We have exciting opportunity for a graduate to join as our Process Development Chemist - Graduate. This is a full time permanent position, initially based at our head office in Pembridge, Herefordshire, where you will complete an initial training period for 6-months.
Overview of the role
Following this training period, you will transition to the Divisional Operations team. It is essential to have a willingness to relocate as there are opportunities to progress into a more senior role at one of the global manufacturing sites in the coming years.
As the Process Development Chemist - Graduate you will be developing chemical processes that enhance product technical performance, improve quality, and reduce manufacturing costs within agreed timescales. The projects will vary in size, ranging from small continuous improvement initiatives to large capital projects.
Key Responsibilities of our Process Development Chemist - Graduate
Projects: Depending on the nature of each project, you may be serving as the Project Manager, overseeing all aspects of a project, or being a team member with a specific role.
Project Management: project planning, allocation of project resources, contractor supervision, cost estimation, and cost tracking.
Technical Processing/Quality/Certifications/Compliance: You will have a thorough understanding of our manufacturing lines such as the chemical laydown area, process control, laminators, curing ovens, and more.
R&D & Lab: Evaluating raw materials efficiently and selecting suitability for adding to formulations.
Scoping & Specification: Input in developing and updating standard specifications documents, Setting up and agreeing the project charter, Agreeing time scales and budgets; Developing technical aspects of projects; Developing New Technologies; Agreeing safety strategy & measures, ensuring compliance.
